Beetlejuice – The Musical: Background and Story
Based on Tim Burton's 1988 film, Beetlejuice - The Musical follows Lydia Deetz, a teenager navigating grief who encounters Beetlejuice, a mischievous ghost with a talent for turning the afterlife upside down. The musical pairs its irreverent comedy with an emotional story about loss and finding connection.
With music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect and a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, the production made its Broadway debut in 2019. Its original run was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but a devoted fan community helped keep the show in the public eye ahead of its Broadway return in 2022. The U.S. national tour launched in 2021, bringing its lively mix of comedy, puppetry and stage effects to audiences around the country.
Audiences may recognize songs including “The Whole ‘Being Dead' Thing,” “Dead Mom,” “Say My Name” and “That Beautiful Sound.” The Broadway production received eight Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, and earned praise for its production design and Alex Brightman's performance as Beetlejuice. Fans have also embraced the show's distinctive style, sometimes attending in black-and-white stripes inspired by the character.

Beetlejuice - The Musical Evansville reviews
Bruno Mars Exceeded My Expectations!
Beetlejuice - The Musical was perfection from the moment the curtain dropped. The camaraderie between his band & he resembled a brotherhood. They looked as if they were having the time of their lives, warm, and hilarious...which made you have the time of yours.
I was worried his voice would falter, but it is simply perfection. He proved me wrong on the dancing front, not phoning it in at all! The Motown dance moves with the group were loved by me, and they did not disappoint. My husband, not really a fan of his music, LOVED the show. He could not say enough about how great a performer Beetlejuice - The Musical is.
I will be first in line to buy tickets every time he comes here. Worth Every Penny!!!
